The Drikung Kagyu Order was founded in 1179 by Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön. It is headed by the two Kyabgon Rinpoches, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang. While Chungtsang Rinpoche resides in Lhasa, Chetsang Rinpoche has established the Drikung Kagyu seat in exile in Dehra Dun, in the northeast of India.

First of all, we, the staff and students of Kagyu College would like to convey our heartily greetings and good wishes to every one of you who lives around the world.
We would like to share some news from Kagyu College as usual. During the summer vacation many of our students and staff members attended the Kalachakra empowerment and teachings which was conferred by His Holiness the 14th Dalia Lama at Ladakh. Also many students went to other Institutes to learn their philosophical views, which was organized and financially supported by Khenpo Konchok Choskyab.

We are happy to announce that His Holiness the 37th Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang has accepted the invitation from H.E. Nyidzong Trichen Rinpoche to give the first Drikung Phowa Chenmo in Switzerland on 19th April 2015. All Dharma friends and followers are most welcome.
For the second year Ani Tsekyi and Ani Chokyi attended computer classes for about six weeks in Dharamsala and it is wonderful that they are now teaching six other nuns computer application at the Nunnery. They have also started work on a Drikung Kagyu Samtenling Nunnery publication to be published annually. This publication will have articles and poetries by the nuns. Ani Sonam also went to Dharamsala for about six weeks to undertake English language courses. We thank Khenmo Drolma of Vajra Dakini Nunnery, USA for sponsoring these nuns for their stay and studies in Dharamsala this summer.
Following the invitation by most Ven. Bumang Rinpoche and his center, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang visited Taipei, Taiwan for a 10 day program. On December 24th, 2014, His Holiness accompanied by most Ven. Rigyal Rinpoche and Drupon Konchok Tenzin, was welcomed at the airport by most Ven. Bumang Rinpoche, most Ven. Singe Rinpoche, most Ven. Namkha Rinpoche, most Ven. Chomphel Rinpoche, most Ven. Rabsang Rinpoche, lamas, teachers, and many center members, followers, and representatives of all the Drikung Kagyu centers in Taiwan who offered auspicious scarfs and flowers as a sign of joy and hearty welcome for His Holiness.
Upon the invitation by the University of Jammu for a conference on the environment in the mountains, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang together with Mr. Sonam Wangchuck, an engineer, visited on the 13th of October, 2014. His Holiness was also invited by the Ladakhi Students Union in Jammu & Kashmir to give teachings and blessings. On his way H.H. visited the students and gave blessings and wonderful advice to them, saying that they should not waste their precious time since they came from a very far and remote place, but instead keep their good health and diligently work on their studies to have a better future.
Warmly invited by Her Majesty Ashi Kelsang Choedon Wangchuk, the Royal Grand Mother of Bhutan, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang visited Bhutan for ten days from 21st of September 2014. His Holiness and entourage were received by the most honourable Lyenpo Paljor Dorji, Dr. Kinzang and protocol officers of Bhutan at Paro airport, and accompanied towards Thimphu, the capital.
His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang visited Skyurbuchan on 17th July 2014. There His Holiness and entourage were welcomed by the government officials and the people of the village.
The people were dressed in their finest costumes and jewels and they made an offering of songs, dances. The Councillor and prominent members of the village also made Mandala offering to His Holiness.
