The Drikung Kagyu Order was founded in 1179 by Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön. It is headed by the two Kyabgon Rinpoches, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang. While Chungtsang Rinpoche resides in Lhasa, Chetsang Rinpoche has established the Drikung Kagyu seat in exile in Dehra Dun, in the northeast of India.

H.H. the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived Milarepa Retreat Center, Schneverdingen for the opening of the Retreat Temple on June 10th 2014. H-H. was received by Dr. Liane Pitsos the Board of Director, Garchen Foundation, Ms. Carolina V. Gravenreuth( manager) and members of the Milarepa Retreat Centre at the airport and escorted all the way to the retreat centre.
The formal inauguration took place on June 13th, 2014, around 10.00am, H.H. with most Ven. Nupa Rinpoche, monks and nuns of Drikung Kagyu Lineage,
On the 29th of May, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang was received at the Vienna Airport by members of the Drikung Kagyu centres in Austria. After lunch H.H. visited Drikung Phontsok Choling Gompa where H.H. gave the extensive teaching on the Heart Sutra. After the teaching H.H. also shared his vision on Go Green and Go Organic project in Ladakh, followed by the questions & answers session with the audience.
On the 21st of May His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived Singapore for the Namgyalma One Thousand Offerings ritual at Suntec City. His Holiness was warmly welcomed by the members of the Drikung Kagyu Singapore Om Center, Dri Thupten Dargay Ling center, Drikung Dharma Chakra center, and many of the followers of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage in Singapore.
At 9.30.am on the 24th of May 2014 H.H gave teachings and the empowerment of the Namgyalma One Thousand Offerings puja at the hall of Sunctec City.
On the 26th of April His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and his entourage travelled to Jangthang, Ladhak to visit the Go Green & Go Organic project, which has been one of Holiness' wishes for a long time. More than 30 vehicles and many village people accompanied His Holiness. On the way His Holiness and his team visited a project site of a future plantation project and rock garden and they all had tea and refreshments.

On the 9th of April His Holiness was invited to Kagyu College by the D.K.I.working and managing committees of Kagyu College to lead the annual programmes. Around 3 pm, His Holiness was received by all the monks and nuns at Kagyu College temple and the programmes were started as follows:

At the invitation of Drikung Kagyu Jangchubling monastery, on 2nd of April His Holiness the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa paid a visit to Jangchubling Monastery, Derhradun. The Social and Resource Development Fund (SARD) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) at Dharamsala organized a workshop for the empowerment of nuns. Ms. Tenzin Tseyang, a post graduate in English was the co-coordinator of this project.
From 12th to 22nd March 2014, workshops took place at the Sakya Nunnery at the Tibetan Dekiling Settlement, Sakya nun’s college in Manduwalla, Dist. Dehra Dun, Bon Nunnery at Dolanji, Dist. Solan and at Drikung Kagyu Samtenling Nunnery at Dehra Dun.
This year's Spring Teachings started on March 5th at the Jangchubling Monastery in Dehradun. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche gave teachings on the Heart Sutra, which is the heart essence of all the teachings of Buddha. The teachings lasted for four days from 9am until 12pm. Lunch was followed by discussion sessions at the Kagyu College for monks, nuns and foreigners from south east asian countries led by Most Ven. Khenpo Nyima Gyaltsen, and for foreigners from Europe, USA, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore led by Most Ven. Khenpo Rangdol.
On 2nd March 2014, the Tibetan New Year celebration was held at Jangchubling Monastery, Dehradun. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived the main temple at 6am and the puja for auspicious ceremony Lama Chopa was conducted at the main temple of the monastery.
