The Drikung Kagyu Order was founded in 1179 by Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön. It is headed by the two Kyabgon Rinpoches, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang. While Chungtsang Rinpoche resides in Lhasa, Chetsang Rinpoche has established the Drikung Kagyu seat in exile in Dehra Dun, in the northeast of India.
The Social and Resource Development Fund (SARD) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) at Dharamsala organized a workshop for the empowerment of nuns. Ms. Tenzin Tseyang, a post graduate in English was the co-coordinator of this project.
From 12th to 22nd March 2014, workshops took place at the Sakya Nunnery at the Tibetan Dekiling Settlement, Sakya nun’s college in Manduwalla, Dist. Dehra Dun, Bon Nunnery at Dolanji, Dist. Solan and at Drikung Kagyu Samtenling Nunnery at Dehra Dun.
This year's Spring Teachings started on March 5th at the Jangchubling Monastery in Dehradun. His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche gave teachings on the Heart Sutra, which is the heart essence of all the teachings of Buddha. The teachings lasted for four days from 9am until 12pm. Lunch was followed by discussion sessions at the Kagyu College for monks, nuns and foreigners from south east asian countries led by Most Ven. Khenpo Nyima Gyaltsen, and for foreigners from Europe, USA, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore led by Most Ven. Khenpo Rangdol.
On 2nd March 2014, the Tibetan New Year celebration was held at Jangchubling Monastery, Dehradun. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived the main temple at 6am and the puja for auspicious ceremony Lama Chopa was conducted at the main temple of the monastery.
On 20th Feb 2014, the Drikung Kagyu Community in New York has arranged a lunch and audience with Holiness the Gyalwa Drikung Pa at the Sheraton Hotel, New York, U.S.A. His Holiness arrived at the hotel at 11am. His Holiness was received by most venerable Gyalpo Rinpoche, most venerable Chena Rinpoche and devotees and followers from New York and around the East Cost of U.S.A.
On 21st of Feb 2014, the Rubin Museum in New York, US has organized a dialogue between His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and neuroscientist Prof. Zoran Josipovic. At 7pm Tim McHenry, the Director Public Programs & Performance, Rubin Museum introduced His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and Prof. Zoran Josipovic to the public and invited them on the stage for the talk.
His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang visited the Asia Society in New York, USA on the occasion of an exhibition about Densa Thil, the monastery of Phagmo Drupa. On the 18th of February the Asia Society hosted a dinner for His Holiness and entourage during their visit of the Exhibition about Densa Thil.

On 13th January 2014, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche with His Eminence Gyabra Tritsab Rinpoche and twelve Drikung KagyuTulkus, the oldest being 42 years of age and the youngest being twelve, arrived at Sravasti the day before.
On 12th Nov. 2013, H.H. the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche visited the Drikung Kagyu Rinchenpalri Monastery in Nepal. All the monks, nuns, and staff of the monastery presented a Mandala Offering to His Holiness for gracefully accepting the invitation and visiting the monastery in order to give blessings.

On the 2nd November His Holiness attended the Chakrasamvara Drubchen in the main temple with sand mandala, monks from India and Nepal, there were more than hundred monks. Many senior monks, Omze came from Ladakh,
Nuns are grouped here and there sitting on the emerald green lawn with mugs of their mid-morning tea in their hands. Some are standing and laughing while the autumn sun brings some warmth to the chilly autumn weather. Bell rings for their next class and the nuns disperse.
