Public Request & Notice

20e4c0e1-52ed-4e3a-a9f0-11e7d2e9fd52 Dear monastic sangha communities and devotees of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage around the world: It is with great joy and happiness that our Maha Gurus, the Supreme Lord His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Thinley Lhundup and the Exalted Lord His Holiness Kyabgon Chungstang Chokyi Nangwa are with us and enjoying a healthy life. We are truly blessed with their Presence as they both  continue  their noble activities of the Buddha Dharma in general and the Drikung Kagyu lineage in particular.

However, it is our profound obligation and imperative duty to offer our long life prayers for His Holinesses; the Sun and Moon. Pertaining to this important objective recently, we, the Board Members of Drikung Kagyu Institute  unanimously decided to arrange the necessary long life pujas for the good health and longevity of both His Holinesses.

Subsequently, we have been blessed and instructed by H.E. Khabje Garchen Rinpoche to coordinate the following necessary pujas:

1.    Usnisha-vijaya puja (rNam rGyal Ma) ---(10,000 times)

2.   Vajra Vidarana (rDo rJe rNams ‘Joms) ---(many times)

3.   Sitatapatra mantra (gDugs dKar) (many times)

4.   Long Life Prayers Associated to the 16 Arhats (gNas bRtan Phyag mChod) ---(many times)

5.    Arya Tara Mantra ---(many times)

It is further requested that we recite the Arya Tara Mantra regularly starting from His Holiness's 75th birthday. The grand pujas are scheduled to be performed  this coming winter at Densa Jangchubling monastery, in Dehradun, India.

We will be joyfully celebrating the 75th Birthday of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Thinley Lhundup on 24th, July 2020. Thus, all devotees are hereby requested to recite the long life mantra of Arya Tara.

Yours in the Dharma,

Governing Body Members,

Drikung Kagyu Institute
