This weekend, the Gongchig Seminar was held at Jangchub Ling monastery at the Drikung Kagyu Institute. At the main seminar, in Tibetan language, papers on topics related to the Gongchig were presented by the monks and nuns
and discussed. In parallel, an English Gongchig Seminar was held at the Songtsen Library, in which six of the Western students, representing the USA, Peru, and Latvia, presented papers to show what they have learned from these two months of Gongchig teachings.
The English papers covered a wide range of issues considered through the lens of the Gongchig including cosmology, ethical conduct, mental modeling of reality, and experiences of putting these teachings into practice. Lively discussion followed the presentation of each of the papers, and it was clear that all of the participants of the Gongchig English recitation class learned a great deal over these last two months. The six English papers are posted here (see below). Also, all the translated sections of the root text (including the supplemental section) that were posted week by week during the teachings have been collected together into one document here (see below).
All aspects of the 2012-2013 Winter Teaching are now successfully completed, and all participants will now dedicate the merit and wisdom gained to the unsurpassable enlightenment of all beings filling space!
