Losar - The Tibetan New Year

marme monlamOn the 11th of February, the Tibetan Losar was celebrated at the Jangchubling Monastery. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived at Jangchubling Monastery at 5.30am and at 6am morning the Losar program began with the auspicious prayers followed by Lama Chopa Puja.

There after the Tibetan tea and auspicious sweet rice were served and mandala offering were made to His Holiness. There were around 900 people who participated the Tibetan New Year celebration at Drikung Kagyu Institute, Dehra Dun. HH during Tibetan Losar

 As a sign of condolence, this year the Tibetan New Year was not conducted as a big event as many Tibetan people have sacrificed their life for their land and people.

Lamp Offering

On the 12th February 2013, morning from 7am to 9am His Holiness and all the monks and nuns of the Drikung Kagyu Institute performed prayers for all the Tibetan people who sacrificed their life for their land and people. In the evening at 7am, His Holiness, Rinpoches and all monks and nuns gathered at the main Temple and performed the Lamp Offering prayer around the Jangchubling monastery for the benefit of all mother sentient being.
