On March 3, 2013, the Mini Library for Little Monks opened at Jangchubling Monastery, Dehradun, India. The library contains many books for children to improve their language skills. Among those are books of English and Hindi fairy-tales and stories, as well as picture-books.
There are also books containing traditional Tibetan fairy-tales and myths and cartoons to get children interested.
At 10 am His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang was received at the main gate of the Monastery by all the little monks, teachers and staffs, and the sponsors of the Mini Library. Right after his arrival His Holiness unfolded the scarf at the door of the Mini Library, and blessed the Library. HE Thritsab Rinpoche lit the lamp inside the Library as a sign of knowledge and wisdom, and everybody present prayed for auspiciousness and prosperity.
Thereafter, at the lawn sweet tea and cake was served for all in celebration of the Mini Library. Thritsab Rinpoche gave a speech on the importance of education and how to make best use of the Library and benefit from it. His Holiness emphasized the importance of traditional and Buddhist teachings as well as modern education, and briefly introduced Ms Adelyn Lim, the Director of Rainbow of Life Forces (ROLF), Malaysia.
Then gifts were distributed to all the little monks by Ms Adelyn Lim and she gave a speech about her project ROLF and expressed her wishes to support the Drikung Kagyu Lineage as a whole. All the Little monks were captivated with smiles on their faces. The Director of Jangchubling Monastery, Ven. Pema Rigzin offered a book with the autographs of the little monks to Ms Adelyn Lim as a token of thanks.
At 11 am a tree plantation program started. Thritsab Rinpoche and all the teachers, staff and students, sponsors and everybody present planted trees and flowers around the Monastery. Afterward a especial lunch was served at the Jangchubling Monastery for all the little monks and sponsors.
