At the invitation of Drikung Kagyu Jangchubling monastery, on 2nd of April His Holiness the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa paid a visit to Jangchubling Monastery, Derhradun. His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa arrived here around 6 pm and was received with a grand processional ceremony by hundreds of monks, nuns and lay devotees. His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon also received His Holiness with a
traditional scarf in an offering exchange. Holiness was invited to the main temple of the monastery and was offered a mandala offering by the representatives of the Drikung Labrang, Songtsen Library, Kagyu College and Samtenling Nunnery and all the monks and nuns, as well as local people gathered there to see the Holiness. His Holiness and all the attendants were offered sweet fried rice and tea as a traditional reception. After the reception both His Holinesses had good time and long conversation at the Jangchubling residence, and then they had dinner together.
On 3rd April, at 7:30 His Holiness paid a visit around the main temple and blessings at the Jangchubling monastery and Achi temple. Thereafter Holiness visited Samtenling Nunnery, where he was received by Khenpos and all the nuns at the main temple. Holiness made blessings and also visited the Chakrasamvara mandala temple and the retreat hut of the most Ven. Late Drubwang Rinpoche. Thereafter His Holiness enjoyed having a nice tea refreshment at the nunnery.
At 8.30. Holiness visited Kagyu College, and Holiness was received with a warm welcome by all the Khenpos, teachers and staff of the Kagyu College, and thereafter H.H. visited Songtsen Library. At the main hall of the Library, His Holiness gave advice to all the members of the Jangchubling Monastery, Samtenling Nunnery, Kagyu College and Songtsen Library. His Holiness said that it is very important to have sincere faith in one's own guru and this is very important at this critical time, but faith should be guided by wisdom otherwise it is blind faith. Holiness added that His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang is like a older brother to him and it was always his wish to visit Dehradun. Today the time has come and it was wonderful that he was able to pay a visit to Jangchubling monastery and meet H.H. the Drikung Kyabogn with all the monks and nuns of the Drikung Kagyu Institute as members of one family.
At the end Holiness had photo session with all the monks and nuns, and had lunch with His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and then left for Delhi by air.
