His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche left Dehradun for Himachal Pradesh on 10th April 2014 to bless and consecrate the newly built Drikung Thekchok Otsal Ling Monastery at Mondoglu, and also to bless and consecrate the statues of the main temple and the Dharmapala (Protector) temple of WogminThupten Sherdup Ling Monastery at Rewalsar (TsoPema).
In Chandigar, His Holiness stopped for the night where he was received by monks of Drikung Thekchok Otsal Ling. On11th April at Mandi, His Holiness was received by Venerable Lho Ontul Rinpoche, Tibetan MP Mr. Karma Chonphel, heads of local organizations, Lamas, Khenpos and Monks from different monasteries.
On arrival at WogminThupten Sherdup Ling monastery, Lho Ontul Rinpoche made a mandala offering to His Holiness in the temple. Tea and auspicious droma daisy ( rice and raison ) offerings were served to everyone in the hall.
On 13th April, His Holiness performed the Yangzab consecration prayer and ritual and consecrated all the statues and paintings of the main temple. After the consecration, His Holiness inaugurated the new Dharmapala temple by unknotting the five coloured ribbons and lighting a large butter lamp.
His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, Lho Ontul Rinpoche, Ratna Rinpoche and all the Khenpos and monks performed the Dharmapala puja in the new temple.
The local Buddhist population and pilgrims from different states of India and various countries also joined in the auspicious ceremonies.
