His Holiness visits Europe part I

On the 29th of May, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang was received at the Vienna Airport by members of the Drikung Kagyu centres in Austria. After lunch H.H. visited Drikung Phontsok Choling Gompa where H.H. gave an extensive teaching on the Heart Sutra. After the teaching H.H. also shared his vision on Go Green and Go Organic project in Ladakh, followed by the questions & answers session with the audience.



In the evening H.H. gave presentation on his book "A History Of The Tibetan Empire," to the general public, talking about the extensive research on  the Tibetan manuscripts discovered in Dunhuang, at the turn of the last century.

On the morning of May 30th, H.H. visited Vienna University where  he met with professors and students of the Buddhist department of the university. After visiting the Department and photo exhibition, H.H. had a Question & Answer session with all the staff and students presented. After lunch H.H.  and entourage  travelled to Czech Republic to visit the new Drikung retreat center, Drikung Serkyi Karma Ling, which is still undergoing the re-construction. There H.H. met with the dharma friends, the representative of the Catholic Church, and the Major of the town.

On June 3rd, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang left Vienna to travel to Hungary together with most Ven. Nubpa Rinpoche and entourage. On 5th June H.H. consecrated the new Temple, Milarepa Retreat Centre, near by the Peace Stupa in Zalaszántó.

On June 7th H.H. formally inaugurated the opening ceremony of the the Milarepa Retreat Centre, and performed the auspicious prayers and puja at the main temple.

Drupon Konchok Jigme and Drupon Konchok Lhundup presented their experiences of their lives in Hungary with the works of building the temple. Most Ven. Sunnim also gave speech on how he built the Stupa and brief story about the stupa. After lunch the group of Hungarian youngsters performed the Hungarian dances at the Stupa, which was overjoyed by all the people. 

On 8th and 9th H.H. gave the Chakrasamvara Empowerment for all and also kindly gave the vow of Three Refuge ( Buddha, Dharma and Sangha) to those who wishes to get the vows.
