His Holiness visits Europe part II

H.H. the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang arrived Milarepa Retreat Center, Schneverdingen for the opening of the Retreat Temple on June 10th 2014. H-H. was received by Dr. Liane Pitsos the Board of Directors, Garchen Foundation, Ms. Carolina V. Gravenreuth( manager) and members of the Milarepa Retreat Centre at the airport and escorted all the way to the retreat centre.

The formal inauguration took place on June 13th, 2014, around 10.00am, H.H.  with most Ven. Nupa Rinpoche, monks and nuns of Drikung Kagyu Lineage, Dr. Liane Pitsos, Dr. Francsico Velho -Board of Directors, Garchen Foundation, Ms. Frau Moog-Steffens- the major of Schneverdingen, Mr. Herr Hoffmann Bohme and all the people gathered for the opening ceremony. Ms. Carolina V. Gravenreuth has begun the program by giving a beautiful  welcoming speech to all the people gathered on behalf of all the members of the Milarepa Retreat Center. After the auspicious prayers done at the main temple H.H. and Ms. Steffens cut the ribbons at the main gate of the Retreat Temple and did the prayers for stabilising the retreat temple and also auspicious prayers for all beings.

Dr. Liane Pitsos gave a wonderful speech on the account of how the Milarepa Retreat Centre was founded under the great vision of His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang.  She said that this is a happy day, a day of rejoicing. A great project has come to its fruition and can be handed over today to its real purpose. So for the Garchen Foundation, the responsible supporter and operator of the project, it is a great joy and honour, to greet  all here, at this special occasion for which we have been waiting for long time: the inauguration of the retreat temple of the Milarepa Retreat Center, by His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. She added that ‘’the search started in 2000, went on for many years, until-finally-three locations were discovered and transformed with great care, great devotion and great expertise.’’

In the concluding speech His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang stated that in our history there were three main retreat places in Tibet, such as Lapchi, Tsari and Mount-Kailash, but these days most of these holy places are part of China and couldn’t be able to go there for the western practitioners. So for long time, His Holiness wishes to have these three  retreat centres outside Tibet for the benefit of all beings. Now with the tremendous help and sacrifice of Dr. Liane Pitsos and her group, the  Milarepa Retreat Centre in Schneverdingen which corresponds to the Mount Kailash was accomplished, at the same time the Milarepa Retreat Centre in Hungary which corresponds to Tsari, and the Milarepa Retreat Centre in New Zealand corresponds to Lapchi were also accomplished.

The preparatory of the Great Chakrasamvara Empowerment was started after lunch, and on 14th of June the main Empowerment of Chakrasamvara was bestowed to all. H.H. gave the teachings and transmission of the Great Bodhichitta Vows for two days. Most Ven. Khenpo Nyima Gyaltsen also gave teachings and transmission on the Nagurjuna´s Letter to a Friend.

On 20th June most Ven. Nupa Rinpoche compassionately bestowed an Empowerment of Drubpai Gyalmo Amitayus Empowerment, and on 21st he gave an Vajrasattva Empowerment and  teachings.
