H.H. visits Bhutan

H.H. in bhu 5His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang and group of followers from Malaysia, Taiwan and Hongkong visited Bhutan on May 21st, 2017 after his Dharma Tour and Environmental Program in South East Asia. H.H. and entourage started hiking from Zhiwaling at 6:15 am and arrived Tiger Nest ( Paro Taktsang) at 10:30. am on May 22. H.H. was also joined by most Ven. Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche, most Ven. Jamyang Mipham Rinpoche, Dasho Tobyey Dorji and family, Mr. Richard Weingarten and Ms. Carol Weingarten, and some other disciples from Taiwan, Hongkong and Malaysia.


H.H. bhu  -On the way H.H. made mandala offerings and then slowly moved upward gracefully with the opening of the clear sky, the dancing of the prayer flages over the hills, and chanting music of the waterfall. At the main temple HH was received by Lamas (Care Taker of the Temple) and was offered a traditional welcome with Suja and Dresi (saffron rice and butter tea). IMG 8809Thereafter at the main Guru Temple H.H. paid homage to the Guru Padmasambhava, the Tantric Master of the Tibetan Buddhism in 7th Century, and also made Tsok offering and prayers for world peace and harmony. At 12 noon, H.H. and entourage returned back to Zhiwaling for rest after having successfully completing the dharma trip to Taktsang. H.H. said he was very happy that finally he could be able to make his long awaited wish to visit Taktsang. 

On 23nd H.H. visited Paro Kyichu Lakhang (7th Century Temple built by King Songtsen Gampo) and after that visited Youthok Gonpa (Temple) for pray and offered scarf for the main statue.

On 24nd H.H. and entourage drove towards Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, and on the way H.H. visited Tamchoe Lakhang, which was built by the great Yogi Thangthong Gyalpo (14th Century). There H.H. made aspirational prayers at the main temple and also at the Iron Bridge which was built by the Thangthong Gyalpo. Bhu 2Thereafter H.H. left for Thimphu where H.H. was invited for lunch by Her Majesty the Royal Grand Mother of Bhutan. At 12 am H.H. and Her Majesty had a very good time at lunch and then rest for the day.

On 26th, at 4pm H.H. had an audience with His Majesty the 5th King of Bhutan and had a good discussion about the Environmental Project of His Holiness in South East Asia and South Africa.

On 27th H.H. and entourage left for Delhi and transit to South Africa.
