H.H Attends Buddha Jayanti in New Delhi

His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang joined the celebration of Buddha Jayanti in New Delhi at Indira Gandhi Stadium organised by the Misnister of Culture and International Buddhist Confederation. The program started with the ceremonial procession of many great Rinpocheys and Eminences form Tibetan tradition, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and so on inviting the Buddha Relics towards the main hall for the function. There were followed by the performance form Tibetan Institute of Art in Daramsala and students from Bhutan. H.H and all the Eminences offered the scarf and welocme Shri Nerendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.Shri,

Forest and Culture Change gave a welcome speech for all the guests and people gathered for the Buddha Jayanti.

Shri, Kiren Rijiju the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs gave a speech on how important is the celebration of Buddha Jayanti and also bring together from all backgrounds of people. Addressing the gathering, Shri, Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of India asserted that India is home to a unique heritage, where the overriding thought has always been the benefit of mankind. He said that the teaching of Lord Buddha have shaped manay nation, 27a385fe-c661-4eae-8190-bedfe8dd35a8he spoke about the eight-fold path given by Lord Buddha, he said that Buddha's message of love and commpassion to serve people, and said preservation of Buddhist culture and how important the teaching of Buddhism for humanity and world peace at larg.
