Winter Teaching in Dehradun 2019

win 2The annual winter teaching was commenced on Feb 9, 2019 at Jangchubling Monastery, Dehradun, India. On first day His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang gave teachings on Dharmapada in the morning session, after lunch there were puja hosted by general sungha assembly. On the second day H.H. gave same continues teaching and after lunch the general puja and aspirational prayers were organised.

On the last day, in the morning session the 7th Khenpo Enthronement Ceremony was conducted at the Jangchubling Monastery, the highest degree of the Buddhist academic studies. There were 22 newly appointed Khenpos of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage who were pass out of the Kagyu College in Dehradun. His Holiness offered each of them the scarf of reward and certificate entitled the Khenpo and gave speech to all gathered for the ceremony.

win 1During his speech, His Holiness emphasised that "after obtaining the Khenpo title, one should not get lost after the ego and pride, but should observe the responsibility of the Buddha Dharma by maintaining the practice of bodhichitta, loving kindness and compassion, Sila (the training of morality), Samadhi (the training of meditational practise) and Prajya ( the training of wisdom). And wherever one goes or whatever action one does from the body, speech and mind, all activities should go for the benefit of all sentient beings and also for the world peace and harmony."

Lunch was served for all the people attending the teaching and ceremony, and at 2 p.m. His Holiness kindly bestowed the empowerment of Achi Choki Drolma for all the devotees. There were thousands of people gathered for the empowerment. The winter teaching program went smoothy and after the program H.H. left for rest at his residence.
