11th phase Go Green Go Organic at Chushul, Leh Ladakh
Today on 5 June the ‘World Environment Day’ the mega plantation drive was conducted on the Black Plain of Chushul in the noble presence of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Thinley Lhundup. This historic plantation drive was kindly attended by many high competent authorities led by Shri Dr Pawan Kotwal, Honorable Principle Secretary of health UT-Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Honorable Member of parliament, Shri Tashi Gyalsten, Honorable CEC, executive councillors headed by Shri Tashi Namgyal (Yakze), Ambassador Tsewang Namgyal,(Advisor to Drikung Kagyu Institute), Konchok Tsepal, nominated Sangha Councillor, His Eminence Ladakh Chosje Togdan Rinpoche, HE Drukpa Thuksay Rinpoche, HE Gar Namdrol Rinpoche, Khenchen Nyima Gyalsten Rinpoche and the president of LBA, LGA and many other distinguished Khanpos, Tulkus, monks, nuns and the eight Gobas of Lalok, Sarpanch, Panch, BDC and all the people coming from different regions of Lalok-Changthang and different corners of UT Ladakh.
However, in this mega plantation drive one lakh and fifty thousand saplings have successfully planted on the Black Plain of Chushul spotted at Indo-Tibetan border.
Furthermore, First time in the history of Ladakh, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Thinley Lhundup has been conferred with the title of ‘Green Ambassador of Ladakh’ on 5 June 2022 the ‘World Environment Day’ by UT-Ladakh and LAHDC in recognition of his unprecedented noble contribution and thought to inspire goodwill toward improving the quality of life with organic farming practice and sustaining healthy environment in the Ladakh region.
In addition, a speech was delivered by all the high competent authorities putting their noble views on the World Environment Day and a series of traditional songs were gracefully performed by the artists from different constituencies of Gobas.
